This interactive map shows how ZIP code boundaries in the Chicago metro area intersect with a custom hexagonal grid. The map below may take a few seconds to load.

This grid was created to enable standardized spatial analysis across cities, recalculating ZIP codes into slivers and then hexagons.

You can toggle layers on and off to explore ZIP codes, hexagons, and slivers.
